1. Pothos

Also known as Money Plant. Pothos is characterized by its golden, heart-shaped leaves and is extremely popular in North America. It’s a hardy plant that can survive in lower light and colder temps and is great for offices and homes since it rids the air of carbon monoxide and formaldehyde.

2. Areca Palm

This pretty indoor house palm is a great inspiration if you're dreaming of tropical climates or just trying to conjure the look in your home decor. It can grow to about seven feet for a dramatic touch in a room, but a smaller pot will keep it contained if you'd like it to stay smaller. The areca palm does well in indirect light. Keep the soil somewhat dry, only watering on alternate weeks or so. This is a very nice plant to purify room air.


3. Snake Plant

 It is one of the most safe and air purifying plants. Also sometimes known as mother-in-law's tongue! It has variegated leaves that grow upright, and some varieties' leaves have yellow or white edges. It has small white flowers that bloom only rarely.



This indoor plant grows well in a whole range of lighting conditions. The air should be somewhat dry, as should the soil. Any normal room temperature should suit it just fine.

4. Peace Lilies


The peace lily, a.k.a. spathiphyllum, is an ideal plant to have in your home if you love flowers but don’t want to buy bouquets that die after a few days. Spathiphyllum thrives in the shade in temperatures below 55 degrees F, and removes harmful toxins like acetone, ammonia, benzene, ethyl acetate, formaldehyde, methyl alcohol, trichloroethylene, and xylene.

5. Fern

It's important to choose a fern carefully if you plan to grow them indoors. The selection of ferns below are plants that can be grown successfully - when the correct conditions and care is given.

9. Spider plant 


Also known as Chlorophytum comosum. Even if you tend to neglect houseplants, you’ll have a hard time killing this resilient plant. With lots of rich foliage and tiny white flowers, the spider plant battles benzene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene, a solvent used in the leather, rubber and printing industries. As an added bonus, this plant is also considered a safe houseplant if you have pets in the house.
